About Port Fairy

The historic village of Port Fairy is part of Victoria's Shipwreck Coast and the famous Great Ocean Road area. The Moyne River, wharf and East Beach are just a few minutes walk from both the Coach House and Railway Cottage. A variety of restaurants, pubs and boutique shops are also just a short stroll away.

Port Fairy has it all - from seals sunning on the wharf to whale watching along the coast and at Logan's Beach, Warrnambool. Port Fairy also boasts:

Short trips to places of interest include:

  • Tower Hill National Park, an extinct volcano good for bird and koala watching
  • Lake Condah, a former Aboriginal mission
  • Logan's Beach (Southern Right Whale watching)
  • Griffiths Island, Port Fairy (bird watching)
  • Mt Eccles National Park (bushwalking)
  • Cape Bridgewater (seal colony)

Take a boat trip from Port Fairy wharf for fishing or trips to Lady Julia Percy Island for a look at the seals.

A bit further afield are day trips to the Grampians, wineries at Penola, and the Glenelg River at Nelson for boat trips to the caves.
